Step-by-Step: Renaming Standard Fields in Salesforce

Here’s how to update standard field labels through the Rename Tabs and Labels feature in Setup:

1. Go to Setup

Log in to Salesforce and click the gear icon at the top-right. Select Setup.

2. Search “Rename Tabs and Labels”

In the Quick Find box (top left), type "Rename Tabs and Labels", and click on the result.

3. Select the Object

Pick the object (e.g., Opportunity, Account, Contact) that contains the field you wish to rename.

4. Click Edit

Click the Edit link next to the object name, and then click Next to move to the field label section.

5. Change the Labels

Update the Singular and Plural labels as per your organization's needs.

6. Save Your Changes

Click Save, and you're done! The new labels will now be reflected throughout your org UI.
